The pickup artist community is now very popular. Thanks to that reality show from VH1. The community is such a great help for men who never imagined themselves in the dating scene. It has given hope to men and encouraged them to start developing their dating skills.

The community has dating experts and pickup artists who help other men to get out and start improving themselves. One of the top gurus is David DeAngelo. The Cocky and Funny technique originated from him. His e-book, Double Your Dating has also received a lot of good reviews.

The Pickup Artist, Mystery, has popularized the mystery method which is widely used in dating today. Though many says that it is already an over used technique and that girls are more aware of it now. Peacocking is also a technique from Mystery wherein you wear an attention-grabbing outfit. If you do not know what it means, just look at how Mystery dresses himself.

Neil Strauss is an American author but he has been popular in the pickup artist community as well. He wrote the book, 'The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists'. He signed in to one of Mystery's bootcamps and that is how he penetrated the pickup artist society. He was also named as the "No. 1 Pickup Artist" after his book hit the market. A big question about Neil Strauss though is that why he refused the pickup challenge with Julian Foxx? He may have a thousand reasons but why pass it on to Mystery? Well, Neil Strauss rarely have live pickup videos.

Dubbed as the "fastest rising star" in the pickup community is Julian Foxx. He has a live video footage of him winning over Mystery in a pickup challenge. The video received different insights from people. Some say that it was a setup for Mystery, while others say that whether the video was real or not, fact is that anybody, and even Mystery, can also get rejected.

Surely there are other popular personalities in the dating and pickup community but the ones I have mentioned are the experts that men should watch out for. Usually, these dating experts give a free newsletter where you can get a sample of their works.

Most of these gurus were not born experts in dating. Some of them, or maybe most, were also once a shy type of person who doesn't know how to approach women. Dating Tips: Approaching Women and Not Losing Chances

How to approach a woman is a hard thing to do for most men. It seems so hard to think for an opening line, a particular topic that would interest her, or just how to grab her attention. Thinking about how she would react negatively or receive no response at all is unimaginable that is why most men are discouraged not to try. Being that a common problem for men, it has also been a common subject for dating tips everywhere. Don't let that good chance of yours to just slip off because you got her bored or you stopped talking. A good conversation can get you a good date. So avoid a boring one and long pauses or what they call, dead air.

Ask open ended questions. This will let her talk a bit. Listen to what she says so that you will have an idea on what to say next. You will also be able to pickup some information on her: her interests or what pisses her off.

Do not make your conversation like an interview where you're the interviewer and she's the interviewee. Talk as well. Make her feel comfortable talking with you. Remember also to flirt with her or she might think you're just too nice of a guy. If possible, ask her to do something like walk with you, have a coffee at a nearby coffee shop, and the likes.

Situation 2: You are trying to use a dating technique that's supposed to be "challenging" a woman and you should be the one in-charge of the situation. But what happens is she challenges you back. She's using the same technique on you.

Don't be surprised nor act like your stunt is over and she won because it has just started. It is actually a good indication if she challenges you back. She's responding to your technique and "agreed" to play your game. So don't get nervous and never lose your composure or you will lose your chances on her. The internet has given some people a chance to find a date or a life partner. People who are too shy to mingle with others or with the opposite sex are taking advantage of the internet in finding someone to date with.
